System Improvements are happening at OOC

We are making system improvements based on the feedback provided by stakeholders during last year’s government consultations, as well as feedback provided directly to Ontario One Call. These improvements have been thoroughly researched and developed to benefit all users who interact with our web portal.

What are the system improvements?

Mapping improvements

  • Safety buffer zone for map selections created on the web portal: decreasing the mapping safety buffer size will reduce the number of notifications Underground Infrastructure Owners (UIOs) receive which will result in less wait time for excavators. The map selection buffer will decrease from 20 meters around the drawings in the web portal to 10 meters.
  • Additional depth size option (up to 1.5 feet): it allows deep-set infrastructure owners to clear their infrastructure that is not affected by shallower depths, resulting in less wait time for excavators.

New search field

  • An additional search field will now allow UIOs and Locate Service Providers to find requests by notification date.

System Improvements Timeline

  • Updates will begin the evening of April 26th and will take apprx. 4 hours.
  • During the updates systems will be offline and only emergencies will be accepted by phone.
  • Information on a exact times will be provided in further communications.
