Update on Relocates

Dear Stakeholder,

We heard your feedback regarding relocate requests. Excavators can make a relocate request (essentially a copy of a previous locate request) when their project is continuing past a locate expiry and their digging is occurring at the same location with the same dig perimeters. 

If any of your locates are approaching expiry and are not aligned with the minimum 60-day window, or if you are having difficulty relocating your request, please submit a new locate request or contact Ontario One Call for assistance. 

As a temporary solution, starting next Thursday, April 17, 2025, it will be possible to submit a relocate request at 20 days (for advance requests) or at 25 days (for standard requests).

Ontario One Call is working on a long-term solution. We appreciate your continued patience and partnership as we work with industry stakeholders to align industry standards on relocates practices.

Underground Infrastructure Owners

At this time, Ontario One Call recommends locate validity periods be in 60-day increments (60 days, 120 days, 180 days).
