On April 14th, 2022, Bill 93, Getting Ontario Connect Act was voted into law by the Ontario Legislature. The final version of the legislation will be available shortly at: www.ola.org

Members, excavators, and stakeholders may have questions about the legislation, especially how the dedicated locator model will work on a practical level.
To that end, the Dedicated Locator Working Group was formed earlier this year. Developing the dedicated locator model was a key recommendation of the 2021 Locate Solutions Working Group and it was decided to have a similar body work to develop the draft policies and procedures that would make dedicated locator effective.
Ontario One Call will be hosting a webinar on Friday, May 6th between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to review the draft outputs of the Dedicated Locator Working Committee. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask questions during the webinar and provide written feedback afterward to help refine and improve the draft policies and procedures.
