The Ontario government proposed changes to the OUINS Act. These amendments were debated in the Legislature and were passed on December 4, 2024. They are now in effect.These changes are designed to improve the efficiency, safety, and effectiveness of the locate process across Ontario. As part of our Digital Transformation, we are introducing an improved Locate Request Sharing Service to help excavators save time and resources. Sharing locates can be done by including another excavator’s contact information in the locate request. If that’s not possible, you can now share your locate requests in an improved format with other contractors if their digging
