Call for Nominations to the Ontario One Call Board of Directors – Excavator Representatives

Ontario One Call (OOC) administers the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act 2012 and plays a vital role in protecting the public from harm and damage to underground infrastructure. OOC is in transition moving from a service provider to a service-oriented regulator. During this time of transition, the guidance of the board of director is integral to its ability to support infrastructure owners, excavators and stakeholders.

OOC is seeking two representatives from the excavation sector to serve on the board of directors. This application will remain open until the Excavator Representative positions have been filled.

About Ontario One Call’s Board of Directors

One Call’s board of directors is currently comprised of 16 members representing various sectors within the industry including industry leaders representing infrastructure owners (Municipal, Electricity, Gas & Oil Pipeline, Telecommunications & Cable, etc.), leaders representing the excavation community and leaders appointed by government.

The board’s main role is to govern OOC and set its goals. The board must work to ensure OOC has financial sustainability, sound policy development, and proper visioning. The board of directors is accountable to the corporation’s members, and will report at the annual meeting of members. As the organization becomes a delegated administrative authority, changes will be made to OOC’s by-laws to ensure that the board remains in an oversight capacity and the staff are empowered to guide the organization through its transformation.

Leaders are invited to apply to stand for nomination representing the excavator community on the OOC’s Board of Directors.
